There are few cars in the automotive industry that have histories as lengthy and storied as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Look at any one of the eight Benzes hugging the banking after the jump, and you'll be reminded of the innovations that particular car brought to the market: the W116 that heralded ABS 1978, the W126 that introduced airbags in 1981, and the W140 that brought electronic stability control to the party in 1995. Nowadays, if a car leaves its production line without the last two features, it is officially unfit for the U.S. market. Imagine in 10 years time when it will be compulsory for cars to come standard with radar-guided cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

$20 million in greenbacks sitting inside the safe of my choosing is definitely worth more to me than $20 million floating in space. Apple pie à la mode is worth significantly more to my taste buds than apple pie paired only with a plate. One look at this week's Wednesday wallpaper, and suddenly the equation "1 + 1 = 3" begins making a lot more sense. Don't be surprised if your computer desktop whispers, "I'm extra worthy" after you plaster these 'Vettes and jets on your computer screen for the week. I mean, "'Vettes and jets" -- the combo even rhymes, so you know it was meant to be.

Corvette Carnage in Norway

Here are the mangled remnants of a Corvette after the driver lost control of the car on a Norwegian highway. Apparently, the Corvette hit a barrier, jumped into another lane and then crashed into an oncoming car, causing a few other vehicles (including a Dodge Ram ... yes, a Dodge Ram in Norway) to wreck.
